How it’s calculated

Payment terms count calendar days from the invoice date, not from when the invoice is received. "Net 30" means the full amount is due 30 days after the invoice date. EOM here means payment is due on the last day of the month in which the invoice is dated.

Due date = Invoice date + N calendar days (Net N) Due date = last day of the invoice month (EOM)

Example: an invoice dated 15 January 2026 on Net 30 terms is due on Saturday, 14 February 2026 (16 days left in January + 14 in February = 30). On EOM terms it is due on 31 January 2026.

Terms such as "2/10, n/30" also give a 2% discount if paid within 10 days; the net date is still 30 days after the invoice date. Weekends and holidays are not skipped; check your agreement.

Frequently asked questions

No. Unless the contract says otherwise, Net 30 means 30 calendar days from the invoice date, including weekends and holidays.
