How it’s calculated
The avoirdupois pound is defined as exactly 0.45359237 kg (1959 international agreement). Every other unit is a fixed multiple of the pound or the kilogram.
Example: 70 kg ÷ 0.45359237 = 154.32 lb, which is 154 lb 5.2 oz, or 11 st 0.3 lb.
Strictly these are units of mass; in everyday use "weight" means the same thing.

How do I convert kg to lbs?
Divide kilograms by 0.45359237, or multiply by about 2.20462. For example, 80 kg ≈ 176.37 lb.
How many grams are in an ounce?
An avoirdupois ounce is exactly 28.349523125 grams. (A troy ounce, used for precious metals, is 31.1034768 g.)
How many pounds is a stone?
Exactly 14 pounds, or about 6.35 kg. Stone is still common for body weight in the UK and Ireland.
